The CPP-2 Processors are very similar. They both provide lab-quality processing of film and prints. Both use a recirculating water bath to temper the chemicals, and both have the same maximum capacities. These processors are designed for advanced amateurs and small labs.
What're the differences between the two? There are four differences:
For advanced amateurs and professionals, if it's not ultra-high quality -- forget it. Thousands of very critical people use these processors, and they don't complain about the quality of processing. Why would they? Our roll film and print processing is as good as anyone's, and our Expert Drums for sheet film are better than anything else we've found.
If you can tell time you can process your own film and prints. There are three variables important when developing film or prints; temperature, agitation, and time. The CPP-2 control the temperature for you in an extremely consistent manner. The agitation is just the opposite, it's wildly random. With film and print processing, the agitation must be as random as possible to insure your don't get streaking and other processing problems. The last element is what you're responsible for -- the timing of the steps. Again, if you can read a clock, you can process your own material.
Your new CPP-2 can handle all common film and print processes, with any film or paper.
